Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the Colorado transportation design team, combining project leadership with people development and client focus. You will guide roadway design, mentor engineers, and help deliver quality transportation projects in Colorado.

The role uses a seller-doer model, balancing billable work with leadership duties, pursuing opportunities, and strengthening relationships with CDOT and local agencies to grow Ulteig’s Transportation business.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
Civil PE licensure preferred; PTOE, AICP, or other credentials may be considered.
8+ years of transportation engineering/roadway design experience required.
Experience with CDOT, local agencies, or similar public transportation clients preferred.
Ability to lead technical work while mentoring staff.
Interest in a seller-doer leadership model with billable project delivery.
Strong communication and client relationship skills.
Experience collaborating with project managers, clients, and public agencies.
US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

Lead transportation design work from planning through construction support.
Provide technical guidance for transportation projects and stay engaged in billable work.
Review drawings, calculations, specifications, estimates, reports, and other deliverables.
Mentor engineers through coaching and development opportunities.
Balance workload and staffing with project managers and leadership.
Support pursuits and strengthen relationships with CDOT and local agencies.
