Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is hiring an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle repair. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while aligning with team KPIs and representing the Brand Ambassador promise of The Boyd Group.

Role includes planning repairs, using cutting tools and welders, realigning frames, replacing parts, and painting to spec. Strong attention to safety and quality is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies and how to use trade tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers. Uses various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces them with new or aftermarket parts; repairs glass and windshields.
• Welds and fits parts; prepares and repaints vehicles to factory specifications or equivalent.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects repairs for correctness.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
