Job summary

Ross Education Holdings, Inc in Niles, OH, seeks a Student Support Specialist to assist hybrid students and support campus operations. You will work under the Student Success Director, helping with retention, registration, and communication across Ross College programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with campus staff and corporate partners, documentation, and adherence to ABHES and state standards for a compliant student experience.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years’ work experience in banking, office administration, or customer service.
  • Ability to work at least two evenings a week.
  • Prior experience in post-secondary education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own student retention activities and contact absent students across Ross College Online and the consortium.
  • Attend retention and program calls with faculty and staff to address needs.
  • Provide basic Canvas LMS support during orientation and ongoing use.
  • Assist with FA processing and campus enrollment at the kiosk or computer.
  • Serve as liaison to CFAO for student questions and scheduling appointments.
  • Manage some accounts receivable tasks including payments and receipts.
  • Assist with externship preparation and graduation materials as needed.
  • Prepare Certificates of Completion/Diplomas and graduation events.

The SSA is responsible for meeting the needs of our hybrid students, and providing the support necessary for the hybrid students to succeed at Ross. It Is expected the SSA will follow all compliance requirements and maintain excellent documentation to meet ABHES, Federal, State and internal standards.Success in this role is accomplished through collaboration and partnering with campus staff and key corporate personnel to ensure compliance, positive outcomes, strong site operations and a healthy and positive working environment for students, staff and faculty.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudent RetentionResponsible for knowing your retention metrics and leading student retention activities for students taking courses through Ross College Online as part of the consortium agreement, such as:Contacting absent students using multiple methodsIdentifying and creating plans for high-risk students to find them academic support for successful program completionAttending retention calls as scheduled, and program calls when invited, to stay abreast of specific program needsCollaborating with Faculty and Associate Director to find creative methods to engage these students from day 1 through to their graduationResponsible for on-ground and virtual orientationsAssist students with basic Canvas LMS tech support as part of the orientationFinancial Aid SupportSupport the initial student experience and registration process by assisting students at kiosk/computer as needed for FA processing and enrollmentHandle follow up with students in the collection of documents at the campus level as requestedAct as a liaison to CFAO to get student questions answered, or appointments scheduledHandle some account receivable functions including: accepting other limited payments at the campus, distributing receipts, making bank deposits, etc.Is available to answer questions on Title IV fundingAccepts full responsibility as School Certified Official for Veteran Affairs fundingCareer Services SupportAssist with document collection for hybrid studentsAssists with student/graduate communication and follow up to support outcomesWorks collaboratively with Career Services team to prepare students for externship as neededPrepares Certificates of Completion/Diplomas and graduate materialPlans and attends annual graduation celebrationOther Student and Campus SupportAdditional duties as assignedExpected Campus OutcomesAchieve required minimum of 70% retention rate for each programMaintain Documents required packaging status at 95% and aboveBenefitsHealth, Dental & Vision InsurancePaid Time Off401(k)Life InsuranceTuition ReimbursementMonthly Pay - Direct DepositRequirementsAssociates Degree or higher from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
