Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking tutors to work with students in Road to and Through College classrooms, providing targeted practice, guidance, and one-on-one attention. The role supports college readiness through math, science, language arts, and humanities tutoring, with a focus on developing student achievement.

The position offers an hourly wage of $12.50 and a comprehensive benefits plan, including tuition reimbursement and paid family leave.

Qualifications

• Education: 48 hours of college credit with 2.5 GPA OR two years of full-time instructional experience in K-12
• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Facilitate use of technology to improve student achievement and manage tasks
• Implement behavior management aligned to campus initiatives
• Help shape a productive, enthusiastic learning environment
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust
• Determine concepts to teach from student notes and discussions
• Familiarize with RTTC Libraries and materials used by students
• Conduct math/science or ELA sessions and tutoring in writing
• Support writing process including brainstorming, clustering, and editing
• Communicate progress with College counseling team/teacher
• Host tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
• Spend 10–20 hours at school per week
