IDEA Public Schools seeks tutors to support students during school hours with targeted objectives, extra practice, guidance, and one-on-one attention in the Road to and Through College classrooms.

Qualifications

• Education: minimum of 48 hours of college credit with a minimum 2.5 GPA or two years of full-time instructional experience in a K-12 school may be substituted.
• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate use of technology to communicate and educate and improve student achievement.
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help shape a school-wide culture fostering a productive learning environment.
• Build cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Identify from notes and discussions concepts to be taught or retaught.
• Conduct tutorial sessions in math, science, language arts, and humanities.
• Support writing development across subjects and study skills.
