Job description

Position: Librarian at Aquinas College

The Aquinas College Librarian oversees the operations of the college library and manages its assets, including budgeting, resource acquisition, and subscriptions. The librarian also provides information literacy and library instruction to support the college's academic programs, helping students develop lifelong learning skills and research capabilities.

Minimum Educational Requirement

• ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate behavior aligned with the teachings of the Catholic Church and support the mission of Aquinas College.
• Manage collection development and access to print and electronic resources.
• Provide individual and group library instruction tailored to students' needs.
• Develop and maintain the library’s website and research guides.
• Maintain library spaces to support learning, research, and preservation of materials.
• Collect, analyze, and report statistical data to college administrators.
• Manage special collections, including the Monsignor Flanigen Archive, the Denman Collection of Bosley Genealogy, Sister Aloysius Mackin Papers, and rare books.
• Chair the Academic Support Committee, serve on the Academic Affairs Council and Curriculum Committee, and participate in general education outcome committees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academics.
