Job summary

The State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Insurance, invites college students to join the Information Technology Division’s IT Help Desk as a full-time college intern in Columbus. This temporary role supports hardware and software tasks from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, aligning with student schedules.

Interns gain hands-on experience in IT support, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration within a government agency dedicated to consumer protection and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program related to Information Systems or Computer Science.
  • Eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Pursuing IT-related coursework with interest in help desk operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation, maintenance, configuration, upgrades and/or administration of hardware and/or software in workstation support, business continuity, information security, telecommunications, and network connectivity.
  • Create, organize, file, and maintain documentation.
  • Interface with other platforms from a hardware and/or software perspective.
  • Attend meetings as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are looking for dedicated college students to assist our Information and Technology Division’s Help Desk on a temporary full-time basis (8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday).

Key Responsibilities

Internship Details

Our interns are eligible to participate in the internship program long as they are enrolled in an accredited college or university and are in good academic standing for the duration of the internship (6 to 8 months). This internship is ongoing and is not limited to a single college semester or term.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in and attending a college degree program directly related to Information Systems or Computer Science.
