Job summary

Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representatives internship offers guidance and a framework to build an integrated financial planning practice while you’re in school. You’ll work with local and nationwide experts, exclusive products, and the backing of a Fortune 500 firm to grow confidence and client-building skills.

The program provides a flexible schedule, weekly coaching, and licensing support (SIE, Series 6/63, CFP eligibility).

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambition and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prospect and network to build your business and client base.
• Develop and execute on a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive licensing: Life, Accident, Health (and related).
• Build life skills that create future career opportunities.
