Northwestern Mutual invites college students to join its College Financial Representative internship, a program that mirrors our full-time Financial Representative career. You’ll learn to prospect, build a client base, and develop a business strategy while gaining access to exclusive products and corporate support.

You’ll receive coaching, opportunities to pursue Series 6/63 licensing or CFP certification, and participate in local and national recognition events.

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn prospecting and networking to build your client base.
• Develop and execute a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
