Job summary

Merced College is seeking a Budget Analyst to develop and monitor the District's annual budgets. The role involves forecasting revenues and expenditures, ensuring fund availability, and producing periodic budget revisions.

You will work with District staff and department managers to provide insights that support student success through sound fiscal planning and processes. Strong knowledge of GAAP and budgeting is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and budgeting fundamentals.
• Ability to prepare, implement, administer and monitor large budgets.
• Experience with financial reporting and fund accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budget development for the District; advise administrators on budget items.
• Project annual revenues and expenditures; monitor funding availability; process budget transfers.
• Support budgeting and reporting for general and supplemental funds.
• Develop data processing improvements for the budget process.
• Maintain budget controls and verify funding for new positions.
