Job summary

Mt. Hood Community College seeks a dedicated advisor to support TRIO/ETS program participants. You will guide students through academic plans, financial aid, scholarships, college applications, and transition to postsecondary education.

You will work with schools and community partners, coordinate tutoring, track progress, and help with eligibility and recruitment. Some travel to partner sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology or related field.
• Three years of experience providing academic or career advising to middle/high school students.
• Experience working with diverse populations including disadvantaged groups.
• Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Experience using database applications.
• Ability to pass a background check and driving requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group advising, academic planning, and progress reviews.
• Collaborate with schools and partners to recruit participants and deliver services.
• Assist with admissions, financial aid, and college transitions for students.
• Refer students to support services beyond the program scope.
• Plan and conduct workshops and campus/education site visits.
• Maintain accurate program records and assist with reporting.
