Job summary

Mount Wachusett Community College is seeking a Recruitment Counselor for the TRIO Talent Search College Access Advisor program. The role focuses on guiding middle and high school students through college enrollment, financial aid, and career exploration while coordinating tutoring and enrichment activities.

The ideal candidate collaborates with guidance counselors, administrators, and teachers, supports grant objectives, and maintains program documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Two (2) years experience in public education, college admissions, academic advisement, or customer service.
• Equivalency statement accepted if qualifications met by experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Recruit at assigned schools and maintain grant-funded student numbers.
• Assist students in achieving strong academic performance and completing college enrollment tasks.
• Coordinate tutoring sessions and academic programming based on student needs.
• Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and school staff about program activities.
• Develop partnerships with school staff and planning of college visits and information sessions.
