Job summary

Salt Lake Community College is seeking an advisor for TRIO programs to guide eligible high school and junior high students in career and college planning. You will deliver advisement, run workshops, and oversee peer mentors across multiple partner schools.

The role requires travel to several sites, occasional evenings/weekends, and a commitment to serving first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. This is a grant-funded position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, STEM, or related field is required.
• Two to four years of direct, full-time experience in TRIO programs, student services, or related roles.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple schools and activities; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisement regarding career, post-secondary education, and financial aid to eligible program participants.
• Develop and conduct workshops and program activities for target schools.
• Train and supervise peer mentors to support students.
• Plan and implement campus visits and field trips.
• Travel to multiple sites and work with minimal supervision; grant-funded position.
