Marion Technical College is seeking candidates for two positions within this posting: one full-time and one part-time TRIO Talent Search Advisor. Both positions are fully grant-funded, and applicants may indicate their preference when applying.

The role supports TRIO Talent Search operations, handles outreach, advising, and program administration under the grant, helping students navigate college readiness, admissions, and financial aid.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field with experience in advising, counseling and working with disadvantaged students.
• Knowledge of management principles and practices, adolescent development, learning styles, career interest inventories, college admissions requirements, secondary education curricula, student services issues, college student development and advising techniques and computer software packages required.
• Ability to work with a diverse population, including parents, students, young adults, college staff, and representatives from community agencies and organizations.

Responsabilidades

• Recruiting and Outreach: Recruit and enroll participants; conduct outreach and marketing activities; present to students, parents/guardians, school personnel and stakeholders.
• Event Planning and Program Implementation: Plan and implement experiences to promote positive academic, educational, career, and personal outcomes; coordinate activities with schools, colleges, employers, and partners.
• Academic, College and Career Advising: Provide individualized advising to an assigned caseload; assist with educational and career plans; guide on admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and pathways.
• School and Community Liaison: Establish relationships with teachers and administrators; coordinate services with stakeholders; ensure effective delivery of TRIO services.
• Administrative Responsibilities and Grant Compliance: Maintain records per federal regulations; assist with data collection, evaluation, and reporting to meet grant requirements.
• Professional Expectations: Participate in meetings and training; maintain attendance and communication; demonstrate professionalism.
