Qualifications

• More than one year of experience in a consumer collection environment, consumer lending, customer service or financial services.
• Knowledge of applicable collections regulations and practice.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and credit union policies related to collections.
• Review files for related loans to maximize collections.
• Handle a high volume of inbound/outbound collection calls and emails.
• Perform basic financial counseling for members.
• Identify solutions to remedy delinquent accounts (setoffs, deferments, modifications).
• Conduct skip tracing as needed.
• Discuss and negotiate payments for delinquent loans and credit cards.
• Research accounts and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
