Job summary

IMCS is seeking a Collector I in Costa Mesa, CA to support hospital revenue cycle and patient accounts. You will handle insurance follow-up, account resolution, and reimbursement efforts, coordinating with patients and payors to ensure timely payments.

The role requires Epic Hyperspace proficiency, knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding, and at least 1 year in a hospital business or strong customer service background. This is a 3-month, 40-hour/week on-site engagement.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of hospital business experience or strong customer service background.
• Experience with insurance plans and hospital reimbursement.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Epic Hyperspace experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage hospital patient accounts and assigned work queues.
• Follow up with insurance companies, government payors, and patients.
• Review claims, EOBs, and ERAs for accurate reimbursement.
• Identify underpayments and initiate appeals when required.
• Work with Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medicare Advantage, HMO, PPO, EPO, and commercial payors.
• Review billing, coding, and reimbursement issues.
• Document account activity and communications accurately.
• Assist patients with payment arrangements and account resolution.
• Apply knowledge of hospital revenue cycle, ICD-10/CPT coding, and reimbursement methodology.
