Job summary

Baldor Specialty Foods, Inc. is seeking a Collections Specialist I to support the collection of outstanding balances while maintaining positive customer relationships.

The role handles routine collection activities for assigned accounts, follows up on past due balances, documents actions, and collaborates with internal teams to resolve basic discrepancies. Responsibilities include contacting customers, processing payments, and escalating complex issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service is preferred.
• Ability to learn collection processes and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection activities for a portfolio of accounts to reduce past due balances.
• Contact customers by phone and email and document collection efforts.
• Follow established collection processes, send reminders, and record commitments.
• Assist with payment plan coordination and escalate high-risk accounts as needed.
• Research and resolve routine billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
• Provide support regarding account balances, refunds, and adjustments.
