Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling seeks a Collections Specialist to manage receivables, contact customers for timely payments, and resolve discrepancies. You will apply payments, document activities, and support month-end close while maintaining policy compliance.

The role requires integrity, strong communication, and familiarity with billing/ERP systems, with a preference for prior collections or customer service experience. Excellent written and verbal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of collections or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of TCPA and applicable federal/state collection laws.
• Familiarity with billing and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts, monitoring aging and outstanding balances to drive timely collection.
• Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on past-due invoices.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, short pays, and deductions, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
• Establish payment arrangements within established guidelines and elevate delinquent or high-risk accounts to management.
• Apply payments accurately and reconcile assigned accounts to keep records current and complete.
• Document all collection activity, customer communications, and account status.
• Support month-end close activities, including aging reviews and reporting on assigned accounts.
• Ensure compliance with company credit and collections policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
