Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage a portfolio of accounts, drive timely collections, and maintain accurate records. You will contact customers to collect past-due invoices and resolve billing discrepancies while supporting cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong written, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience with billing and ERP systems preferred.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts and monitor aging to drive timely collection.
• Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect past-due invoices.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
• Establish payment arrangements within guidelines and escalate high-risk accounts.
• Apply payments accurately and reconcile accounts; maintain current records.
• Document all collection activity and communications for audit trails.
• Support month-end close activities, including aging reviews and reporting.
