Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Collections Specialist in Lauderdale, MN. The role is on-site and focused on managing an assigned accounts receivable portfolio with proactive outreach and precise documentation.

You will escalate where needed and collaborate with sales to protect cash flow while delivering excellent customer service. Ideal candidates have 1+ year in collections or AR, strong communication, and a resilient, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of collections or accounts receivable experience preferred.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
• Thick skin and a service mindset with internal and external partners.
• Strong organization and documentation habits.
• ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned collections portfolio with timely, documented outreach.
• Lead with email outreach, then follow up by phone if no response within two weeks.
• Follow established escalation process and partner with internal sales when needed.
• Maintain detailed notes on every account touchpoint.
• Support reduction of past-due balances during period of growth.
• If hired permanently, partner with customers, sales agents, and branch managers nationwide; assist credit memos and resolve issues.

What You’ll Do

• Work an assigned collections portfolio, focusing on timely, documented outreach.
• Lead with email outreach, following up by phone on accounts that haven’t responded by week two.
• Follow an established escalation process, partnering with internal sales contacts when needed.
• Keep detailed notes and documentation on every account touchpoint.
• Help the team reduce past‑due balances during a period of high growth.
• If hired on permanently: partner with customers, sales agents, and branch managers nationwide; support credit memos and resolve account issues; balance a mix of high‑volume, small‑dollar and larger accounts.

What You Bring

• 1+ year of collections or accounts receivable experience preferred (strong entry‑level candidates with a degree or internship experience considered).
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
• Thick skin and a service mindset with internal and external partners.
• Strong organization and documentation habits.
• ERP experience a plus.
