Job summary

The role supports the Orbach Science Library with potential hours at the Rivera Library, requiring Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and flexibility for backup coverage including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of library practices and procedures.
• Ability to locate library materials and assist patrons.

Responsibilities

• Search for materials patrons or staff are unable to locate.
• Advise patrons on search results and refer to other library departments when appropriate.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating student assistants.
• Direct student assistants to maintain an efficient workflow for the Collection Maintenance unit.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
• Primary responsibilities at the Orbach Science Library, with hours at the Rivera Library as needed.
• Work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and be available for backup staffing (evenings, weekends, holidays).
