Job summary

University of California, Riverside seeks a Collection Maintenance Supervisor to manage daily collection maintenance activities, supervise student assistants, and support special projects. The incumbent may work at the Orbach Science Library with assignments at the Rivera Library as needed, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexible backup hours.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and experience with library systems, public service, and item-record management.

Qualifications

• Experience in a computer-reliant work environment and the ability to learn specialized software.
• Demonstrated experience using an integrated library management system such as Ex Libris or similar.
• Experience working with the public in a related service oriented environment.
• Experience creating and updating item records in an ILS.
• Demonstrated experience using spreadsheet, word processing, and database programs.
• Previous academic library experience or similar.
• Demonstrated skill in organizing, monitoring, and setting priorities for a heavy workload with multiple tasks and competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform collection maintenance duties and coordinate student assistants to maintain efficient workflow.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating student assistants.
• Direct student assistants in processing and filing according to established procedures.
• Support long-term projects within the Collection Maintenance unit and work across Orbach Science Library and Rivera Library as needed.
