Job summary

Kona Medical Consulting seeks a Collaborating Physician for a new hormone and wellness clinic in Birmingham, Michigan. The role involves clinical oversight, guiding hormone therapy, and coordinating with a Michigan-licensed NP to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care.

Ideal candidates hold an active Michigan license, MD or DO, board certification in Family/Internal Medicine or Endocrinology, and experience in outpatient care and weight management.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Michigan physician license.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in an appropriate speciality (Family/Internal Medicine/Endocrinology).
• Current professional liability coverage appropriate to the responsibilities.
• Experience in outpatient medicine, hormone therapy, women’s health, menopause care, or wellness medicine preferred.
• Familiarity with testosterone prescribing, lab monitoring, and weight management is an advantage.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and willingness to collaborate with a Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician oversight and clinical collaboration in line with Michigan law and standards.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner on patient care, clinical decisions, and treatment planning.
• Be available for professional consultation regarding complex cases and questions.
• Offer guidance on hormone therapy and wellness protocols, including testosterone considerations.
• Review laboratory results and assist in monitoring and follow-up care.
• Support prescribing within the agreed scope and ensure compliant documentation.
