Job summary

NewCold in Hagerstown, MD is seeking an experienced Maintenance/Automation Technician to perform maintenance and repair across conveyors, refrigeration systems, and related equipment in a high-volume warehouse. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration with planners and operators.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, operate machine tools as needed, and ensure compliance with OSHA and FSDA guidelines. High school diploma and additional training are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in industrial maintenance or related field.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, including conveyors and related systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, including low-voltage, 480V, and 3-phase motors.
• Previous experience with PLCs is a plus, as is familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all equipment is maintained according to supplier guidelines, including conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems, fire protection, doors and other mechanical systems.
• Performing planned preventative maintenance and repairs in a timely and safe manner with minimal impact to operations.
• Communicating with Planners and System Operators about equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot, repair and replace components in conveyors, cranes, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and other mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and fix problems with control systems, low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Coordinate with Planners and System Operators to schedule repairs with minimal operational impact.
