Job summary

Arcadia Cold Storage and Logistics is seeking a Yard Driver to operate commercial vehicles within Arcadia yards, ensuring safe handling of 28’–53’ trailers and compliance with cold chain protocols. The role requires pre- and post-trip inspections, documentation, and coordination with shipping and receiving teams.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, a good MVR, and a strong sense of urgency with the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• MVR required; good driving record is a must.
• CDL preferred.
• Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently or as a team.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shifts, including weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor to reposition trailers safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report deficiencies.
• Coordinate with operations, shipping and receiving to verify delivery and complete documentation.
• Read, interpret, and follow work orders, safety instructions and manuals.
• Apply knowledge of product and cold chain protocols when transporting and securing product.
• Connect, disconnect, and secure trailer chocks and locks.
• Conduct trailer yard checks and record keeping.
• Perform trailer refrigeration start and temperature adjustments.
• Adhere to driving regulations and safe vehicle maneuvering.
• Maintain attendance, attire and PPE.
• Maintain yard order and cleanliness.
• Follow HACCP requirements.
• May assist in minor repairs to tractor or trailer.
• Other duties as assigned.
