Job summary

Arcadia Cold Storage and Logistics seeks a dependable Yard Driver to operate commercial vehicles and move trailers within Arcadia yards. You will perform pre-/post-trip inspections, secure loads, and communicate with shipping/receiving to ensure on-time deliveries while upholding HACCP and safety standards.

The role requires a valid MVR, basic math/reading/writing, and a flexible schedule including weekends. CDL is preferred; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• MVR required; good driving record a must. CDL preferred.
• Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently or as a team.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shifts, including weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor to reposition trailers safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers.
• Interact with operations management and shipping/receiving to verify delivery and position trailers.
• Read and follow work orders, safety instructions and manuals.
• Apply knowledge of cold chain protocols when transporting and securing product.
• Secure trailers and maintain yard order and cleanliness.
• Conduct trailer yard checks and record keeping.
• Follow HACCP practices and safety requirements.
• Possibly assist in minor repairs to tractor or trailer.
