Arrive Logistics in Chicago is seeking a Claims Analyst to manage a portfolio of Arrive Fresh perishable cargo claims, ensuring accurate, timely outcomes and adherence to PACA, Carmack, FSMA. You will investigate temperature deviations, negotiate settlements, coordinate salvage or disposal, and work with carriers, shippers, and internal teams to protect the company’s financial position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• 3+ years of cargo claims management experience in 3PL, freight brokerage, or cargo insurance.
• Deep knowledge of perishable freight laws (Carmack, PACA, USDA, FSMA).
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of Arrive Fresh cargo claims from filing to final resolution.
• Investigate and resolve temperature-controlled freight claims including deviations and transit issues.
• Negotiate and settle cargo loss, damage, shortage, and contamination claims with stakeholders.
• Mitigate losses by coordinating salvage, redistribution, or disposal per food safety rules.
• Collect and validate documentation to build defensible recovery positions.
• Reconcile receivables/payables, secure releases, and assign rights.
• Track claims data to flag risk areas and share findings with leadership.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to address high-risk shipments and disputes.
• Escalate complex or high-value claims with clear recommendations.
• Monitor cold-chain compliance and reefer certifications and FSMA requirements.
• Oversee risk workflows for high-risk loads and ensure timely action.
• Maintain accurate claim records and inform customers/carriers of status.
