Job summary

BVHS is seeking a Manager of Professional Coding Integrity to oversee the coding integrity team and ensure accurate ICD-10/CPT coding, compliance with regulations, and optimized reimbursement across the health system. The role partners with clinical leadership, manages budgets and staffing, and leads audits, policies, and education to sustain high quality coding practices and reduce denials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HIM or related field or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
• CPC certification required or achievable within 9 months of hire.
• Knowledge of ICD-10/DRG/CPT and coding clinics.
• Understanding of revenue cycle workflows and coding processes.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding integrity team ensuring accurate ICD-10/CPT coding and compliance.
• Lead recruitment, training, staffing levels, payroll, performance evaluations and reward systems.
• Support organization goals, engagement, service excellence and cost control.
• Develop and implement coding compliance plans and policies.
• Oversee quality audits and remediation plans to reduce denials.
• Track metrics and drive operational efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with Corporate Compliance and external audits as needed.
• Maintain communications with medical providers and clinical leadership on coding practices.
• Participate in continuing education and disseminate knowledge across departments.
• Stay current with federal, state, and third-party coding guidelines.
