Job summary

University Health is seeking an experienced HIM leader to supervise the coding staff across outpatient and inpatient coding. This role oversees coding quality, compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, DRG, APC, and ASC systems, and supports reimbursement and reporting.

Under the HIM Executive Director, you will develop policies, plan process improvements, assist with annual budgets, and ensure adherence to Joint Commission and licensure standards, while promoting guest relations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience managing HIM processes or coding/billing in a medical facility.
• Expert knowledge of Joint Commission standards and licensure regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the coding staff for Outpatient and Inpatient Coders, Coding Educators, unbilled and denials clerks.
• Maintain expert knowledge of ICD-10CM, PCS, CPT, DRG, APC, and ASC and their impact on reimbursement and reporting.
• Develop and implement HIM policies and procedures with the HIM Executive Director.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and monitor expenditures against budget funds.
• Promote the University Health System's guest relations policy.
