Job summary

Valley Health System seeks a Coding Educator to oversee coding education programs and training for staff at Kraft Center. The goal is to ensure accurate ICD-10 coding by Coders and to promote best practices in medical record documentation.

The role requires 5 years of coding experience in a medical group setting, with knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and strong communication skills. CPC/CPMA preferred and EMR experience (Athena/Meditech) is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive coding experience in a medical group practice.
• Experience with surgical and outpatient procedural coding.
• Proficient with medical billing software and EMR systems.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS coding references.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage coding education programs for staff.
• Collaborate with clinicians to improve documentation quality.
• Ensure consistent ICD-10 coding accuracy.
• Deliver training and assess outcomes.
