Job summary

Valley Health System seeks a senior coder/auditor to review billed services and ensure accurate clinical documentation. You will assist in payor and government audits, respond to payor denials and inquiries, and research new coding guidelines and codes.

You will support VHS corporate compliance and liaise with physicians and staff. Required CPC certification and extensive ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT knowledge, plus 8–10 years' experience.

Qualifications

• CPC (AAPC) certification is required.
• Degree in health services management, business, or related field preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines required.
• Extensive knowledge of reimbursement systems required.

Responsibilities

• Review billed services and provide recommended corrections related to clinical documentation.
• Assist in reviews and responses to payor and governmental audits.
• Assist Chief Business Officer in replying to payor denials and patient inquiries.
• Review and research new coding guidelines and codes.
• Assist VHS corporate compliance staff.
