Job summary

Valley Medical Center & Clinics in Renton, WA seeks a Coding Auditor and Educator to lead audits of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding and to educate healthcare providers. The role focuses on ensuring accurate documentation, CMS/regulatory compliance and ongoing learning initiatives across the Health Information Mgmt department.

The position reports to the Manager, Revenue Charge Capture and requires 3+ years of coding and documentation review experience, with CPC/CCS-P certifications preferred; CPMA

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding and medical record review.
• 2+ years delivering documentation and coding education to providers.
• CPC or CCS-P certification required; CEMC preferred; CPMA strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
• Knowledge of E/M guidelines and coding regulations across specialties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician coding and documentation audits for accuracy and compliance.
• Deliver targeted education and training to providers based on audit findings.
• Produce audit reports with detailed findings and corrective recommendations.
• Educate new providers on documentation and coding standards; perform post-education audits.
• Develop education tools and resources for accurate E/M, procedural, and diagnosis coding.
• Analyze audit results to identify trends and inform improvement initiatives.
• Support PB coding leadership with findings to enhance performance and compliance.
• Translate regulatory guidelines into compliant auditing methodologies and practices.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
