Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer focused on Codex to partner with leading engineering teams to design, build, and deploy AI-powered software development workflows. You will work hands-on to implement prototypes, evaluation harnesses, and production accelerators, often using Codex in your own development process.

You will help customers make technical decisions around model behavior, integration environments, security, and reliability, translating deployment experience into product

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python with hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript or similar languages is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leaders to identify high-value Codex opportunities and translate them into architectures, implementation plans, and evaluation strategies.
• Design and deploy AI-powered coding workflows, integrations, and automated evaluation systems.
• Contribute to reusable architectures and tooling to accelerate future Codex deployments.
• Lead technical workshops and enablement sessions to help teams adopt new workflows safely and effectively.
