Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a technically deep Applied AI Engineer to design, validate, and scale AI workflows with Codex, partnering directly with engineering leaders to accelerate customer deployments.

You will lead workshops, build demos, and contribute to the Cookbook while gathering real-world insight to inform product direction and model feedback. This role blends technical architecture with customer-facing leadership in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical consulting, post-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar experience working directly with customers.
• Power user of AI coding tools with a strong personal developer workflow.
• Experience delivering large, high-impact workshops or technical training to engineering teams.
• Contributed technical guides, patterns, or examples publicly with emphasis on clarity and education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical SME on OpenAI Codex for a portfolio of customers, embedding with them to enable their engineering teams.
• Partner with customers to design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, from rapid prototyping to scalable production.
• Build high-quality demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations using Codex in development.
• Lead large-format workshops, technical deep dives, and hands-on enablement sessions for AI adoption.
• Contribute technical content to OpenAI Cookbook to help the developer community accelerate work with Codex.
• Gather product insights from deployments and translate into product proposals and model feedback for internal teams.
• Influence customer strategy by framing how AI coding tools fit SDLC, roadmaps, and workflows.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on solution architecture, readiness, model configuration, and security best practices.
