Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a technically deep Applied AI Engineer to design, validate, and scale AI workflows, prototype demos, and build integrations that customers adopt. This cross-functional role partners with engineering leaders to advocate for customer needs, run workshops, and translate deployments into practical product direction while prioritizing reliability and safety.

You will work across Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and the broader Codex org to accelerate intelligent coding systems

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical consulting, post-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar experience working directly with customers.
• Active power user of AI coding tools with a strong point of view on developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert on OpenAI Codex for a portfolio of customers.
• Partner with customers to design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, from prototyping to production rollout.
• Build demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations using Codex.
• Lead workshops and hands-on enablement sessions for engineering teams adopting AI coding tools.
