Job summary

Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital in Orem, Utah, is seeking a full-time Coder-Medical Records Specialist to support coding for inpatient and outpatient charts in a hospital setting.

The position is on-site only, Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm, with some weekend work as needed, and offers tuition assistance, 401(k) with match, health benefits, and paid time off.

Certifications required: CPC, CCA, or CCS; RHIA/RHIT preferred; high school diploma; at least 21 years old with a background check.

Qualifications

Position Overview

Are you an experienced inpatient and outpatient Coder, passionate about providing accurate coding support in a hospital setting? Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital is looking for you! We are currently recruiting for a full-time Coder-Medical Records Specialist (ONSITE ONLY - this is NOT a remote position). Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital (AGBH) is an 80-bed facility, serving the adolescent, adult, and detox/rehab population and is located in Orem, Utah. AGBH is a member of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS).

Position Status

Full-time non-exempt hourly position working onsite Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm w/some weekend work, as needed.

Position Goals & Objectives

• Supporting the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services.
• Coding discharged patients' accounts.
• Prepare the patient chart for discharge process and assemble components in the correct order.
• Assigns and abstracts medical and consultant data.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education :High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience :Two years' of experience as a coder with Medical Records preferred
• Licensure/Certification :CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) REQUIRED. RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred.
• Other:Must be at least 21 years of age or older and able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Knowledge :Health Information Management (HIM) systems and operations.
• Computer literate with skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment.
