Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Code Compliance Department, Building Standards Division, seeks a Code Compliance Supervisor to lead field operations and enforcement activities. The role involves supervising staff, reviewing reports, handling inquiries, and developing programs to improve compliance with city and state regulations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, Texas Enforcement Officer Certificate, and several years of supervisory code enforcement experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with specialized training in animal control, code compliance, enforcement, or building trades.
• Four years of relevant experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• State of Texas Enforcement Officer Certificate required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, prioritizes and assigns work; conducts performance evaluations; ensures staff is trained; maintains safe working environment; handles hiring/disciplinary decisions.
• Reviews and analyzes reports, citations, inter-departmental requests and mailings.
• Responds to inquiries and complaints; provides information to neighborhood associations and community members; supports internal/external agencies; collaborates with other departments for excellent service.
• Develops new programs to increase efficiency; creates educational materials and training documents for external dissemination to promote compliance.
• Liaises with city commissions and organizations; prepares reports for senior management and program evaluation.
• Conducts detailed investigations and ensures safety and HR procedures; assists in division budget oversight and expenditure control.
