Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Sr. Code Compliance Officer to lead and coordinate field staff in enforcing municipal codes and zoning ordinances. This role conducts complex inspections, investigates complaints, and may cross-train with other departments to ensure timely abatement of violations.

Applicants should have the required TX certifications, a valid driver’s license, and strong public-facing presentation skills. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Texas driver’s license required.
State of Texas Code Enforcement Officer Certificate at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

Leads, plans and participates in the work of Code Compliance Department staff assigned to investigate complaints, perform inspections, and facilitate abatement of ordinance violations.
Reviews the work of field staff for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
Performs more complex inspection and investigation duties as assigned.
Prepares activity or summary reports specific to team productivity, complex cases or other special assignments.
