Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in customer service, building construction, building inspection or code enforcement.
• Must possess FACE Fundamentals of Code Enforcement within 12 months.
• Must possess Parking Enforcement Specialist Certification within 14 days of hire; valid Florida driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and enforces federal, state, and local codes and initiates corrective actions.
• Responds to complaints, issues citations, and assists with prosecutions as needed.
• Inspects buildings/properties for conformance with codes and verifies permits.
• Prepares notices, processes violations, and maintains case records and evidence.
• Educates the community and coordinates with residents, property managers, and contractors.
• Testifies at hearings and supports CRA/Citywide enforcement initiatives.
