Job summary

City of Port Richey is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer to perform field inspections and enforce city codes. You will prepare descriptive reports, issue citations, and coordinate with Police, Fire, Public Works, and other entities to correct violations.

The role includes liaising with property owners and testifying in court, with duties also spanning budget support and compliance advocacy. Knowledge of enforcement practices and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders to restore properties

Qualifications

• Knowledge of code enforcement principles and municipal regulations.
• Ability to establish working relationships with city staff, boards, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and enforce municipal codes.
• Prepare reports, logs, and notices of violation to property owners and tenants.
• Condemn unsafe structures and coordinate demolition when needed.
• Testify in court proceedings as staff liaison to the Code Enforcement Board.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and respond to inquiries about policies.
