Job summary

City of Naples seeks a Code Enforcement Officer to investigate potential code violations and promote health and welfare. You will enforce city ordinances, inspect properties, and prepare cases for the Code Enforcement Board.

Responsibilities include outreach to neighborhoods, issuing citations, and coordinating with other departments to achieve compliance. You must read zoning plats and ordinances and maintain a Florida driver's license; FACE certification is preferred or obtainable within one

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two years experience in municipal code enforcement
• Ability to read and interpret zoning plats, ordinances, survey docs, and land data
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and meet City standards
• FACE Level 1 certification preferred or obtainable within one year from hire

Responsibilities

• Prepares and presents cases concerning code violations to the Code Enforcement Board.
• Issues citations for violations of the City code.
• Conducts outreach presentations with neighborhood associations and organizations.
• Assists other City departments regarding code compliance issues as needed.
• Investigates complaints from citizens to determine code compliance.
• Proactively patrols the City for compliance with Code.
• Investigates signage, parking, and permit-related compliance in various areas.
• Inspects structures for compliance and follows up on Board findings.
