Job summary

City of Plantation is seeking a Code Enforcement Inspector to handle inspection and enforcement duties to ensure compliance with local codes and the City Charter. The role involves investigating complaints, issuing notices, and coordinating enforcement actions with other departments.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, knowledge of municipal codes, and the ability to work days, nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; municipal code compliance experience preferred.
• F.A.C.E. certification desired or obtainable within one year of employment.
• Knowledge of codes, ordinances and regulations or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and investigate complaints of code violations across multiple city codes.
• Provide notices of violations and initiate enforcement proceedings as needed.
• Coordinate inspections and enforcement with other departments; testify in legal proceedings.
