Job summary

The role requires independent field inspections, with guidance from the Chief Structural Inspector and Chief Building Official as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school or an equivalent recognized certificate.
• To be eligible for appointment as a Structural Inspector, certified by the State of Florida BCIAB as a Structural Inspector.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all construction to ensure compliance with Florida Building Code, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and City Ordinances.
• Coordinate inspection activities and prepare inspection reports.
• Enforce building codes and inspect structures for permit conformity.
• Consult with Chief Structural Inspector or Chief Building Official on difficult cases.
• Perform field inspections, climb ladders, and work at heights.
