Job summary

Dallas City Hall is seeking an Operations Research Analyst (Code Compliance - Civil Service) to deliver analytical insights that improve department procedures and service delivery.

You will evaluate programs, identify bottlenecks, develop recommendations, and support management with data-driven presentations and reports. This role requires strong data analysis, modeling, and clear communication to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field required.
• Three years professional experience in operational analysis or equivalent.
• Strong data analysis, modeling and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of research methodology and statistics.
• Ability to communicate clearly and publish concise reports.

Responsibilities

• Provides analytical information to management regarding department procedures, processes, and structure to assist management in organization improvement.
• Evaluates, reviews, analyzes, and determines effectiveness of current practices, policies, and programs; identifies ways to improve the department.
• Conducts research and logical analysis of barriers to determine improved approaches; recommends redesign strategies.
• Appraises fiscal and program restructuring; develops recommendations to senior management.
• Analyzes procedural, financial, and structural barriers to improve service delivery and interrelationships of programs.
• Analyzes client requests and provides guidance from core data sources; summarizes statistical results and creates reports/visuals.
• Serves as expert for special projects; provides data-based analysis for management.
• Assist management with research, data analysis and drafting presentations; pursue professional development.
• Performs other duties as needed.
