Job summary

Northfield Park Racino is seeking a friendly Cocktail Server to take and deliver orders, serve cocktails and ensure guest satisfaction in a fast-paced casino environment.

You will maintain knowledge of menu items and beverage brands, assist guests with inquiries about services and local attractions, and perform opening/closing duties while upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety. Flexibility with shifts including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months of prior cocktail/food service experience preferred.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays; required.
• Experience in a resort setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take orders and serve food and drinks efficiently and accurately.

Description

It is the responsibility of the Cocktail Server to take and deliver customer orders, guest satisfaction and finalize checks.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Take order(s), and serve food and drinks efficiently and accurately in work area as applicable.
• Place order(s), and garnish and serve cocktails to guests.
• Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available.
• Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment to include fold/stack cocktail napkins, stock swizzle sticks, straws, matches, line cocktail trays, stock glassware, restock supply cabinet, inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.

Work Experience

• 6+ Months of Prior Relevant Experience as a cocktail and/or food server in a similar environment - Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of beverages on menu, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes.

• Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
