Job summary

Communications Construction Group, LLC in Blair County, PA seeks a Coax Splicer II to join our field team. You will perform coaxial cable splicing both aerial and underground, test and troubleshoot post-installation, and ensure work meets customer and industry standards.

Daily responsibilities include maintaining safety, driving a company vehicle, documenting production reports, and collaborating with crew to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years of coax splicing experience or equivalent work history.
• Ability to perform both aerial and underground splicing tasks.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam and maintain a valid medical card.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to electronic upgrades and splicing of coaxial cable, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate work at heights, from underground to the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and document usage.

What You’ll Do

• Perform tasks associated with electronic upgrades and splicing of coaxial cable, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least two years of coax splicing experience

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work at heights & in confined spaces, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles
