Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a Coax Splicer II to splice coaxial cable for telecom networks, both aerial and underground. You will test, activate, and troubleshoot installed equipment and ensure all splicing meets industry standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (not provisional) with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card.
• At least two years of coax splicing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks with electronic upgrades and splicing of coaxial cable, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely work at various heights, from underground to aerial.
• Carry out basic daily vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Document work via daily production reports, map marking, and material usage records.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Perform tasks associated with electronic upgrades and splicing of coaxial cable, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least two years of coax splicing experience

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work at heights & in confined spaces, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles
