Job summary

Communications Construction Group, LLC in Mount Laurel, NJ is hiring a Coax Splicer to join our telecommunications construction team. You’ll splice coaxial networks for internet, cable TV, and phone services, performing aerial and underground work under guidance.

We value safety and reliability: you’ll complete daily maintenance, document work, and ensure standards are met. Eligible candidates need a HS diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• Must have six months of coax splicing experience or one year in telecom.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam for a valid medical card.
• HS diploma or GED or relevant work experience.
• DOT readiness and ability to work at heights/underground.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot post-installation equipment.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely operate at varying heights and perform daily vehicle maintenance.
• Document work in daily production reports and map updates.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Coax Splicer - Mt Laurel, NJ is $18.00 - $24.00.
