Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify prep and cure, perform adhesion/holiday testing, and write critical reports relied upon by owners and engineers.

With CIP Level 2 certification and 2+ years of experience, you will supervise Level 1 inspectors, resolve nonconformances with applicators, and advance to CIP Level 3 on eligible programs while traveling to active

Qualifications

CIP Level 2 certification current, with 2+ years inspecting under it.
Familiarity with SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and coating systems.
Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
Ability to stop an out-of-specification application and document closure.

Responsibilities

Plan inspection hold points from the coating specification and manufacturer data.
Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
Dispost defects and specify repairs; supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects.
Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
