Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead coatings inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application, and cure, and sign off at each step while coordinating with the owner and applicator.

The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of experience, SSPC/NACE standards knowledge, and the ability to stop nonconforming work and document it; you will also supervise Level 1

Qualifications

• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coatings
• Ability to stop an out-of-spec application and document it

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating spec
• Verify surface preparation, application and cure with sign-off authority
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing
• Disposition defects and specify repairs
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review logs
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports
• Represent the inspection program to owner and applicator
